Support Groups

St. Michael’s is the meeting place for several community support groups:

Alcoholics Anonymous meets in the Church school wing:

  • Sunday Night St. Mike’s Group: Sundays at 7:30 pm
  • Cook Road Group: Mondays and Thursdays at 8 pm

Michigan-Narcotics Anonymous meets in Yeoman Hall

  • “The Pointe Of Recovery” group: Thursdays at 7:30 pm

 

Alzheimer’s Support Group for Families
First Wednesday of each month from 6 pm to 7:30 pm

Faye LaPorte, Dementia Specialist at BrightStar Care of Grosse Pointe/Macomb, will lead monthly support for families of those with dementia. Faye has received a Certificate of Completion for facilitator training by the Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Michigan Chapter.

The sessions are the first Wednesday of each month from 6 pm to 7:30 pm in the Lounge.

In a safe a confidential environment, facilitator Faye LaPorte will help family members share their experiences and challenges, their fears and their joy. “My goal is to help people understand effective ways to communicate with their loved ones,” Faye said.
